VOLUNTEERS

Volunteer opportunities are limited at JAHSSD but always very appreciated! We welcome anyone who can devote a few hours monthly to help support the work of our organization.

Current opportunities:

Footprints newsletter: Research and write articles for our newsletter;

Speakers Bureau: assist with visits to school classrooms, senior centers, and other venues to talk about Japanese American history;

Board of Directors: consider joining our Board for a monthly meeting and occasional event planning;

Historical Collections: data entry; processing scrapbooks and photograph albums; working with Oral History Collection; documenting new donations; researching new exhibitions. Training will be provided – legible neat handwriting is preferred. [currently full]

INTERNSHIPS

JAHSSD unfortunately cannot support formal internships at this time. Our archivist is in-person at the office once per week and cannot support the number of hours necessary to fulfill school requirements.
