Donations to JAHSSD

JAHSSD is a 501(c) (3) organization, and donations are tax deductible according to IRS rules.

From our founding, JAHSSD’s membership has been a significant source of the funds we need to operate our organization. In addition, we conduct a year-end Annual Appeal as well as hold annual fundraising events to supplement member donations.

If you are interested in supporting the work of the JAHSSD, consider becoming a member. Membership is open to all who are supportive of our Mission.

Donations by check can be mailed to the office at:
JAHSSD
4029 43rd Street Suite 100
San Diego, CA 92105

Donations can also be made by PayPal or Credit Card here:

Donating Collection Items:

There are other ways to support JAHSSD including donating items to our collection. If you are considering donating personal and/or family items to JAHSSD, we would prefer that you contact us first to discuss the donation. Please be aware that our collecting scope relates to the history of Japanese Americans in the San Diego region and we need to consider whether any donation we accept fits within these criteria. We also require documentation to be completed as part of the procedure before any donation can be accepted. Funds provided by donors to accompany a donation are always appreciated as we use them to support the cost of caring for and preserving the donated items.

You are welcome to contact our Archivist if you have any questions or to discuss a donation:

Exhibitions: We do our best to display as many JAHSSD collection items as possible in our exhibitions. However, those that do not appear on exhibit are still a valuable source for research as well as an important and treasured part of our collections.
