About 300 people celebrated the opening of This Land is Your Land, This Land is My Land at the Chula Vista Heritage Museum on June 7.  Performers from the Old Globe Theater presented several numbers from Allegiance – A New American Musical which opens in September, and the Downbeat Big Band played music of the 1940s under a bright blue sky.
JAHSSD members were well represented in the crowd.  Several had out of town family members join the party, which enabled old friends to reconnect.
This exhibition is sponsored by the Friends of the Chula Vista Library and the Chula Vista Heritage Museum in partnership with the Japanese American Historical Society of San Diego, with funding from California Reads.
See it Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon – 4pm and Saturdays from noon – 3pm until May, 2013.  The Chula Vista Heritage Museum is located at 360 Third Avenue in Chula Vista.
